Vishnu Lutchmansingh was charged after allegedly being given money after he falsely purported that Buford Keaton, of Kentucky, United States, who died in 1997, had left an estate worth £900 billion and he (Lutchmansingh) was the sole beneficiary of Keaton’s will.

A total of 287 bearer bonds were found in a secret place in the new Prime Minister's official residence. These bearer bonds were kept hidden by the previous occupants of the residence.
The bearer bonds together with documents that had been probated and granted to Vishnu Lutchmansingh by a US Court of Law, were taken by force after the police raided Vishnu Lutchmansingh's residence under the previous prime minister's instructions in the year 2003 which was also published in the newspapers.
